Thank You from St. Mary Interparochial School

Dear Park West Gallery,

"Sometimes the sweetest moments are those that happen spontaneously. Park West Gallery is responsible for one of those sweet moments at our school, St. Mary Interparochial School.

Last January 31, 2011, through your collaboration with Art-Reach, Cara Huffman brought one of your artists, Marcus Glenn, to visit our 8th Grade Class. Mr. Glenn engaged the attention of all the students in the telling of his personal story. We learned of the support of his mother and his persistence in following his dream to become an artist. He talked about his unique style and the hidden meanings behind his paintings.

Your generous donation of two paintings, A Dance at the Gallery and Girrrl, You Gotta See This One, allowed the students to see and 'touch' the paintings first-hand. These two paintings will be auctioned off in the Spring and will help to fund our art program. One of our lucky families will be the proud owner of an original Marcus Glenn.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts."

Thanks for a Marvelous Weekend

Marcus Glenn, Park West Gallery Fine Art Collection
"Marquita & The Girls" by Marcus Glenn
Dear Park West Gallery,

"Our sincere thanks for the marvelous weekend we enjoyed at the Orlando VIP event. You go out of your way to make our stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible.

In particular, [the art auctioneer] and his staff and the other associates are knowledgeable, pleasant and fun to be with, plus we get the opportunity to see friends whom we have met at earlier auctions.

[This art auctioneer] is a wonderful asset to Park West Gallery, and the evening at Cirque du Soleil was exceptional; being able to spend time with the artists -- Linda Le Kinff, Marcus (and his wife Yolanda) Glenn, and the surprise visit from Marko Mavrovich is not only an education, but a privilege.

Thanks to you, we are scrambling for wall space, and proudly display our paintings as we move up in the caliber of our collection."

at a Park West Gallery art auction event in San Diego, Calif.
Dear Park West Gallery,

"Just wanted to let you know that Jennifer and I had a wonderful time at the VIP event in San Diego, CA. We got to see our favorite artist, Dominic Pangborn, and made some new friends by the names of Marcus and Yolanda Glenn. It was also a pleasure to see Leslie Lew again as she is always full of energy and gets the crowd excited about her work.

The VIP team was wonderful. Chris Lindsay is a great auctioneer and his team is excellent. Justin took a great deal of time to make sure we got the art we wanted and the rest of the team was always there to answer our questions and make sure it was an event we would always remember.

We love the Park West VIP experience and look forward to our next one.

I have attached a few photos of the event and hope you will post them so others will know that VIP events are a must for serious art collectors. Meeting the artists and talking to them about their work makes collecting their work much more rewarding.

Thanks again for a great time."

Art Auctioneers Educate at Park West Auction

Dear Park West Gallery:

Peter Max. Roseville Series: Roseville Profile Detail Ver. IV #82. 2007. A unique work. From the collection of the artist.I wanted to let you know what a great time we had with Chris Lindsay and Angie. They made it so much fun to go to the auctions. I had never been to an auction before and wouldn't have gone except that Chris was giving out some raffle tickets at another function on the ship.

I ended up with a winning ticket and went to the auction with my wife. What a blast! We ended up going to the next auction too.

After asking tons of questions and getting the answers in such a friendly manner, no matter how stupid we seemed (my art knowledge was the dogs playing poker) we ended up with 3 Krasnyansky's, 3 Marcus Glenn's, the entire free collection for winning, bonuses, etc. and a Peter Max. I would have never gone if I had not won the first Krasnyansky. They both went way above and beyond to help us and educate us. It was truly a pleasure meeting them.

Thank you,

Steve & Rose W.

Celebrate Detroit's 308th Birthday!

TODAY MARKS THE 308TH BIRTHDAY OF DETROIT, MICHIGAN! In order to commemorate the occasion, The Detroit Free Press ran an article this morning entitled "8 More Reasons to Love Detroit," written by columnist, Rochelle Riley. The list of 8 is an addendum to 300 other reasons to celebrate the city - published in 2001 on the Detroit's 300th birthday - and includes landmarks such as the Detroit River, Motown's Hitsville USA and Comerica Park.

Park West Gallery, located in Southfield - a Detroit suburb, would like to propose the 9th (or 309th) reason to celebrate the Motor City - Detroit artists like Dominic Pangborn, Tim Yanke and Marcus Glenn. These artists continue to live and work in the area, contributing beauty, color and inspiration to their surroundings.

"I paint my stories," explains Marcus Glenn, who was born in Detroit and would eventually hone his artistic skills at the city's renowned art institution, the Center for Creative Studies. "Through art, I want to share a part of myself."

And the artist's roots into the city of Detroit extend even deeper. For instance, Marcus Glenn became the first African American and youngest cartoonist to be published in The Detroit News, he commissioned large murals for Detroit automaker Daimler-Chrysler and he had his first museum exhibition at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History in Detroit in 2005.

Glenn's vividly expressive works encourage the viewer to experience what fascinates him, especially his love of jazz music. "It's almost as if you're sharing a piece of your soul with the public. I want people to see the love that I put into it," says Glenn

Park West Auctions: A Great Art Experience

"Dear Park West Gallery:

Recently we were invited to a VIP cruise event aboard Freedom of the Seas. We had an excellent week and very much appreciated the invitation. The Park West personnel were outstanding and very professional in seeing that all their guests had a great art experience (in addition to a very nice vacation week).

Meeting Noah Elias, Tim Yanke, and Marcus Glenn was really a great privilege. Watching Noah and Tim paint was a true honor. Thank you for that experience.

As expected, Royal Caribbean was great and the ship is a real beauty. We had a wonderful time – and are now on diets!

The Park West staff was superb. We can’t say enough. You have excellent people doing the job! Keep up the good work.

Thank you again."

Even More Kudos to Park West Gallery!

"August 8, 2008

It has been two years since Nancy my wife and I were on the Carnival cruise ship. Enjoying the Bahamas and taking in the the wonderful views of the art work of Park West Gallery. We have friends and family come over to our house and enjoy the works of Alfred Gockel, Arkady Ostritsky, Anatole Krasnyansky( my favorite artist), Linda LeKinff, Marcus Glenn, Neil Farkas, Lebadang, Peter Max. You can tell we love are art work. I remember when I was a custom framer there at Park West over 16 years ago, I met Lebadang in person, a really nice gentleman. I truly miss the art world and the environment. I watched the Park West Gallery tour video online, the gallery is beautiful. My wife Nancy cannot believe how large and beautiful the gallery is. I hope you could tell Albert he has done a fantastic job on the gallery.

Best Wishes,

Nathaniel & Nancy R." (Sterling Heights, MI)

"August 7, 2008

Good morning,

I recently bought some beautiful artwork from Park West on the Carnival cruise ship Inspiration. My dealer/auctioneer was Matt - and he was fantastic! He and his assistants Joseph and Carrie were extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and made the entire experience one I will never forget. I especially enjoyed the showing of Destino - thanks for bringing it out to the auctions!

Thank you very much,

Customer Service Reflects on Park West Gallery's 40th

  • "I thought the entire event was thrilling. Park West Gallery's 40th anniversary event was the 'cherry on the sundae ice cream.' It was great fun watching the artists arrive and seeing everyone cheer them on. Marcus Glenn's arrival in his red viper was hilarious, he is such an engaging personality. I found Jean Claude Picot's arrival very touching, even though he had a translator, his emotions came through his actions. I thought it was very sweet when he kissed people in the audience on both cheeks. Gockel made a stunning arrival dressed in white with everyone shouting his name. All of the artists were spectacular and it was great to hear their speeches in support of Park West. But the speech that moved me to tears was Albert's...I felt a chill go up my spine to see and feel such dedication and belief in Park West. He made a believer out of me too." ~ C.B.

  • "I'm always continually amazed by how warm, gracious, and friendly our artists are. They seem to truly share their excitement and enthusiasm for artwork with everyone around them!" ~ L.W.

  • "Our own Morris Shapiro warmed up the crowd in anticipation of what was to come. But you had to be there to believe it. Lights, cameras and action – on the red carpet Tarkay, Agam, Krasnyansky, Fanch, Picot, Simon Bull, Marcus Glenn, Linda Le Kinff, Scott Jacobs, Andrew Bone, Tim Yanke and the list goes on. All in one place at one time, will it ever happen again? Not in the same way. It was a privilege to be able to experience the excitement and energy that exploded that day. Thunderous cheers, Gockel, Gockel, Gockel. Did we glimpse Marcus Glenn trying to steal the show? Driving up to the red carpet in a Viper? Well it seems so, Marcus Glenn can get away with about anything, the cheers went up, the roar was thunderous (the crowd, not the car), mic in hand he gives us more than wonderful art, his wit, charm and intoxicating personality. Working at Park West is a joy, not only do you work with great people, from time to time you get to mingle with the who’s who of the art world. Park West artists are always willing to share a story, sign an autograph or pose for a picture. It’s more than just art; it’s being a part of the Park West family." ~ M.C.

  • "The 40th anniversary event was very exciting to actually see some of the artists up close and associate them with their artwork. And it was interesting to hear comments from the artists regarding how they create their artwork. Overall it was a great experience I'm glad I got a chance be apart of the event!" ~ P.J.

  • "The 40th Anniversary was amazing, vibrant and full of life. I would not have missed it for the world!" ~ L.M.
