Dear Park West Gallery,

"I would like to personally express my gratitude to Mary for handling a delayed issue with receiving an additional art piece from our cruise last November. She reached out to all the players involved, escalating the problem and fixing it within a shortened timeframe. She did all the leg work, followed up and completed the deal. Customer service like this although expected is never realized. I would like to share this message with management so that Mary is properly recognized for her efforts."

Park West Gallery Sparks NCL Cruise Traveler's Interest in Art

Dear Park West Gallery,

"I recently took a cruise on the Norwegian Epic. My son gave me this trip for my birthday, Mother's Day and retirement present, as I was a Chicago Police Officer for 25 yrs. I have since moved to Sebring, FL.

I’ve never had any interest in the arts ever, so I had no plans to go to the art auction at all. This was until I received an invite to the auction promising me a free work of art for my birthday if I attended one of the auctions. Typical female, if it’s free, I’m there.

As I walked through all the artworks on display, I was approached by one of your auctioneers. I was captivated by his words as he spoke to me about some of the works and artists I was looking at. I was stunned as in those few minutes he aroused in me a thirst for more knowledge on the subject. His enthusiasm was electrifying and contagious as he spoke and people gathered around me to hear what he had to say. Some asked questions about the art and one asked him for pricing on some of the pieces on display. To say he was extremely informative is an understatement.

Later in the cruise, I saw this same auctioneer standing by a Picasso outside the Headliner's Club. They were hosting a competition where we had to guess the price of that piece. By the way, my guess was way off!! There were about eight people gathered around him listening to his every word. I joined to listen and others followed suit.

He was so informative about that piece and how it came to be, why it was signed and the significance of that signature. Every one of us was spellbound by his passion for the arts. None of us wanted to leave. Many questions were asked of him and he really made an impression on all of us there. His attention to details is astounding.

I later saw some of those people at the next auction. He even remembered some of our names. Although I’d never ever had an interest in art at all until then, his enthusiasm was such that these were definitely some of the highlights of my cruise and one of the reasons why I’ll be cruising on Norwegian again to hear more and next time, I plan to budget for the auctions onboard.

After the cruise I actually went to a ‘showing’ at the Art Gallery in Sebring & became a member, all because of the new found interest for the arts that I now have.

Thank you for having such awesome personnel. Your team on the NCL Epic is an asset to your company."

Putting a Feather in the Auctioneer's Cap

 Dear Park West Gallery,

"We had the opportunity to sail on the Carnival Spirit for a 12-day cruise commencing on 4/10/11 out of Ensenada, Mexico to the Hawaiian Islands. We purchased artwork at the Park West Gallery.

The lead for Park West Gallery was a gentleman named Peter. We have attended many Park West Gallery auctions aboard cruise ships. Without a doubt, Peter gets our vote for the most congenial, pleasant and well-informed auctioneer

Peter is funny, but not sticky sweet funny; informed, but not a know-it-all; and receptive (but not overly alerted) to peoples’ different tastes in art. In one instance, he worked an assistant’s name into a short phrase from a disco song – very catchy and got the crowd in an 'involved' mood.

Please put a feather in his cap as it is very much deserved. If possible, please pass this along to Peter’s supervisor. Thank you."

Art Collectors: "Park West Gallery's Website is Really Good!"

"Sailing into Capri" by Marko Mavrovich
Park West Gallery Collection
Dear Park West Gallery,

"All items have arrived in our order that you so patiently helped us with. We are delighted with them and with the framing. We still have a few to hang, and some cartons to get rid of, otherwise we're just enjoying the added stimulation in our condo.

Also want to tell you that Park West Gallery's website is really good! Shopping with it is a still further way we have bought from you, beyond cruise auctions (that got us started), a VIP land auction, and the VIP cruise to the Mexican Riviera. We've recommended the website to our friends to use for enjoyment and hope they will also do some buying. It has so much information on artists and wide choice of works to choose from!

We certainly appreciate Park West Gallery and your help!"

Park West Gallery Truly Understands Exceptional Customer Service

"Campagne Provincale" by Emile Bellet
Park West Gallery Collection

Dear Park West Gallery,

"Wanted to drop a quick note to commend your Customer Service staff. I have had two interactions with them—one over the credit card I received and one about a missing piece of art.

The first experience was great and unfortunately I did not write down the young ladies name who was professional and helped me. The second time about the missing piece of art I spoke with Mary G. She promised to research the problem and call me back within 24 hours. She did what she said she would do and when she said she would and got back only a few short hours later and resolved the problem. and than called again to tell me the piece was shipped and a ETA.

The professionalism of your customer service people not only makes me feel comfortable and trust you but makes excited to purchase from you because I know there are no problems only quick solutions. I was a Managing Director for a very large multinational company Customer Service was one of the areas under my control. This tends to make me critical, but I applaud your people as they truly understand what exceptional customer service is and are truly the foundation upon which your business is built, they not only provide exceptional customer service but also build relationships.

Bravo keep up the great work and I look forward to dealing with Park West Gallery."

Dear Park West Gallery,

"I do not know how to thank you for your assistance.

It has been so long since anyone has given customer assistance like this that it is unusual when it shouldn't be. I am actually overwhelmed. I believed this level of concern for a customer's needs was extinct.

You should be very proud of yourself. This is an attribute that will grant you great things in life.

I can't thank you enough and special thanks for making this experience as great as all those I have had with Park West Gallery."

We Had a Great Time at the Park West Gallery Art Auction

"Purple Palm" by Yuval Wolfson
Park West Gallery Collection
 Dear Park West Gallery,

"Just wanted to tell you what a great time we had at the auction. We purchased a beautiful Wolfson painting that my wife truly loves. We can hardly wait to hang it in our home. [The art auctioneer] was so incredibly helpful. We enjoyed doing business with him and would likely not have purchased without his participation. We are looking forward to our next cruise and hope Park West Gallery and [the same art auctioneer] are both there. Thank you!!"

Dear Park West Gallery,

"I just wanted to send a quick thank you to you, and all your staff, for your patience, understanding and assistance in making sure we not only received the painting we wanted in proper condition, but to have gone the extra step to insure the proper framing.

We finally received the art in the desired frame today, and could not be happier. The empty wall space that was waiting for it, is now perfectly filled. Once again, a sincere thanks to all.

I am honored to say I worked with and purchased my art from the Park West Gallery."

Thank You for "Park West Gallery, In Our 42nd Year"

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Scaglione,

"We are pleased to be receiving our newly acquired artwork from the VIP collectors cruise event that took place in January/February of this year aboard the NCL Gem traveling to the Eastern Caribbean.

When unpacking a newly received artwork, we were pleasantly surprised to find a copy of Park West Gallery "In our 42nd Year" taped to the inside wall of the shipping carton. An additional surprise was when we discovered that one of our letters to you was chosen to be printed in the Park West Clients section. This is really an honor for us to have our letter be selected for this particular printing.

Thank you for sending us this copy of Park West Gallery "In our 42nd Year" and for selecting our letter for the Park West Clients section. We are thrilled and delighted to be included in this informative and historical publication.

We look forward to future VIP events and to one day visiting Park West Gallery in Southfield, Michigan."

Warmest Regards,

Thank You Park West Gallery for Awesome Customer Service!

Csaba Markus, Park West Gallery
"Airelle Romantica" by Csaba Markus | Park West Gallery Collection
Dear Park West Gallery,

"Thanks again. We had an amazing time! A one of a kind experience and we were treated like family and my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I can't begin to express just how wonderful it was, but from the moment we arrived until we left we were just simply amazed. We got bumped into an Executive Suite, had incredible food, meet some fun and interesting people, enjoyed stories and experiences with special artists and no expense was spared.

We, I think, jumped up into another level of collecting and stretched our pallets into a wider variety of just fascinating works of art. I just want to thank you for helping this happen, and as I told my wife, I believe this was the most expensive 'free' weekend we ever had, but it was so worth every penny.

Keep up all you do and all Park West Gallery does.

A sincerely loyal client,"

My wife Bonnie and I were on the NCL Sun. I want to bring to your attention one special employee-[the art associate]. [He] was very courteous, kind and helpful to me. He is very knowledgeable about art, answered all my questions and also suggested an artist similar to Metlan whose works I purchased.

I also want to compliment [the art director] for a number of outstanding art lectures. I attended each of his talks. He rekindled an interest in art."

Cruise Art Auctions Are Educational and Fun

Dear Park West Galleries,

"Thank you for a new love in our lives — fine art. Our foray started on board a cruise ship, attending one of Park West Gallery's fun, educational auctions. We purchased some art and really enjoyed it. On our next cruise we learned more and collected more. We enjoy your auctioneers and support staff. They are passionate, helpful, friendly and hard working.

We recently had the pleasure of being guests on the Park West Galleries VIP cruise on Norwegian Sun. Thank you very much for this experience. We had a wonderful time! The team did an excellent job of making us feel welcome and special. They amplified the qualities we enjoyed on our other cruises; more passion, more information, exposure to much more art.

Meeting the artists — Alex Gockel, Scott Jacobs and Marko Mavrovich — was an experience we will always be grateful for. Hearing their stories made the art more meaningful and gave us some good insight into the artistic process.

Our appreciation for fine art and our desire to collect has grown by leaps and bounds. We are very pleased with our purchases so far and are so excited to get our newest purchase — a beautiful original Ilyayev. You have made a customer forever."

Thank You Park West Gallery for the Experience of a Lifetime

"Cafe de Flore, Paris" by Ron Agam
Park West Gallery Collection
Dear Park West Gallery,

"We would like to thank you for inviting us for the experience of a lifetime! To meet and mingle with the artists showcased by Park West Gallery was really a thrill. It was so very interesting to learn and appreciate what goes on in an artist’s mind as he creates his work. All of the artist’s works were amazing and so were their stories.

Our group of 50 or so was fascinating also – to meet people from so varied places. Not to mention the staff... Everyone was so friendly and helpful. And, we appreciated that we never felt any pressure to buy.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to join your group!"

Art Cruise Collectors Give Highest Praises to Park West Gallery

"Dear Mr. Scaglione and Park West Gallery,

I just wanted to take an opportunity to send my highest praises to your company and your art teams all over the seas.

My husband, Joe and I had never really been into art; we have been to a museum or two, but never really took an earnest interest in it. Our first encounter with Park West Gallery was in the summer of 2010 as we cruised aboard the Norwegian Epic. We were up late one night and decided to stroll through the art gallery. We came across a Scott Jacobs that just really blew us away and seemed like a perfect gift for my Dad. We decided to head over to the art auction the next day to get more information about the painting.

Park West Gallery, Joan Miro
"Le Lezard aux Plumes d'Or" by Joan Miro | Park West Gallery Collection
We came to the auction and [the art auctioneer] was up on stage doing his thing. Immediately Joe and I were sucked in and entranced watching [him] perform his auctioneering duties. He was so funny, engaging, and knowledgeable, you couldn't help but just sit and be drawn into the auction.

While we sat listening to [the art auctioneer], one of the art team members came up and asked us if we had any questions, at which point we began discussing the Scott Jacobs we had seen the night before. She pulled it up for us, it went across the block and we bid and won. Our very first auction and our very first real piece of art. What a thrill! :)

We stayed for the rest of the auction and ended up bidding on several more pieces including a set of Emile Bellets and Linda Le Kinffs and we even ended up winning a drawing and won ourselves a Krasnyansky! It was a very exciting day for us both.

Over the course of the rest of the cruise, we came to know the art team very well. We went to almost every auction and acquired a few more additional pieces, including an Alfred Gockel, a small Peter Max and our prized possession, a Joan Miro. Miro is my very favorite artist and really the only artist I knew anything about before our experience with Park West Gallery. Later in the week we ended up winning another piece of art, a beautiful Tarkay. It was an incredible week for us both.

The art team on the Epic was absolutely nothing short of incredible. [One of the assistants] was like a walking art encyclopedia, she knew everything about every artist and every piece we enquired about and never seemed to tire of our endless stream of questions. [The art auctioneer] entertained us all week with his incredible auctioneer skills, and [another assistant] was the accounting genius behind the scenes that helped us make sense of all of our financing options.

At the end of the week we had maxed out both of our Park West Gallery credit cards, but came across an amazing sculpture of 'Samuel the Poet' by Nano Lopez that Joe and I just absolutely fell in love with. With [the art team's] help, we were able to afford the remaining balance to purchase Samuel and he is now one of our most coveted pieces (aside from our Joan Miro). We just recently found out that Nano Lopez will no longer be creating any more Samuel sculptures and that they are completely sold out. Without the help of [the art team] we would have missed an opportunity to collect one of our most favorite pieces that is currently proudly displayed in our home. We are eternally grateful for their 'above and beyond' attitudes that made it possible for us to collect this piece along with all of our other cherished pieces.

We just wanted to send our highest regards and compliments to the Park West Gallery team on the Epic. They helped us begin our art collection and sparked a love in us for art that we thought was only reserved for the socially elite.

A few months later I received a phone call from a member of the VIP art team inviting my husband and I to embark on a VIP cruise with Park West Gallery in January on the Norwegian Gem. We of course accepted and attended the trip. Once again, my husband and I were just blown away by the level of service and personal attention given to each guest traveling with Park West Gallery. We really were treated like VIPs every moment throughout the trip.

Everyone one of [the art team] were absolutely amazing. They balanced a level of professionalism with a level of comfort, ease and genuine friendly rapport with the guests that I believe is a very difficult skill to master. In addition, they all were incredibly knowledgeable about all of the art pieces and never tired of our endless stream of questions and requests. They really went above and beyond to make us feel like VIPs.

One member of the art team sat on the floor of the gallery with me for almost an hour as I stared at several Miro lithographs discussing my preferences for each one. Another member of the team hauled pieces of art out from storage on the ship just so we could look at them in person. And most surprisingly, I even had to call one of the team members in their room on their one 'day off' (we didn't have any auctions or meeting or dinners scheduled for this day) and this team member STILL got back to me in a very timely manner. This team REALLY went above and beyond and every aspect of this trip had us feeling like complete and total VIPs.

Having the opportunity to meet the artists was an even bigger surprise and an unforgettable experience. Now, three months later, Joe and I are still in contact with all 3 artists we met on the VIP cruise. In addition, during this cruise we had the opportunity to expand our collection adding another Miro as well as two Dominic Pangborn's, a Yaacov Agam and a Fanch Ledan. It is so exciting to see our art collection grow and expand thanks to Park West Gallery.

One thing I would like to take a special moment to note is how significant it was to both me and my husband that we were not ignored by any team member of either art team (the Epic or the VIP team on the Gem). My husband and I are both very young (both of us are still in our 20's) and it's understandable to assume that we are probably just 'lookyloos' or simply there for the free champagne. ;) However, not once were we passed over or treated as though we were unimportant or 'too young' to be potential customers. It was this respect and attention that both surprised and impressed us even further with your art teams.

We now consider ourselves official 'art collectors' and are enjoying our new (and growing) art collection very much. None of this would be possible without the tireless efforts of your amazing art teams and your mission to make the art world more accessible to the everyday individual.

My husband and I both just wanted to write and send our highest praise to both art teams that we have had the pleasure of meeting so far and to thank you for creating such an amazing gallery. We eagerly look forward to enjoying many more experiences with Park West Gallery in the future and can't wait to see how you and your team members will continue to surpass our expectations.

Our fondest wishes and appreciation,

Kimberly and Joe M. (Proud VIP Park West Gallery members)"

Cruisers Enjoy the Park West Gallery Experience

Park West Gallery Fine Art Collection, Dominic Pangborn
"Potpourri of Colors" by Dominic Pangborn
Park West Gallery Collection
Dear Mr. Scaglione,

"I wanted you to know about the great time my family and I had recently on the NCL Jewel. [The art auctioneer] did an excellent job as host of the VIP experience. From the moment of our invitation, the visit to Peter Max's studio, meeting Dominic Pangborn to the last meal with the other attendees, his thoughtfulness and attention to detail were appreciated.

We've been customers of Park West Gallery for many years and have always enjoyed our artwork as well as the Park West experience. The art around our home brightens and inspires us all. We are all now looking forward to hanging our 3 new Pangborns.

I believe that one of the things that sets your company apart is the apparent family atmosphere we feel. Not only amongst your employees on board (which was top notch), but the fact that my children were welcomed so warmly by [the art auctioneer] and his team. We had several special moments throughout the event. Of particular note was meeting Dominic and seeing him take the time to sit with our daughter and discuss art - that meant a lot to us.

I thought you should hear directly from one of your happy customers about the wonderful experience my family had with [the art auctioneer], his team and the other folks who attended the event. It was something that [we] will be talking about for many years. I look forward to the day where I can meet you and share other great experiences we've had with Park West Gallery."

Park West Gallery Auctions Turn Cruisers Into Art Collectors

Park West Gallery Fine Art Collection, Dominic Pangborn
"Full of Color" by Dominic Pangborn | Park West Gallery Collection
Dear Park West Gallery,

"I am sitting in my living room on my laptop and just looked around at all the wonderful Park West Gallery art I have hanging on the walls. I never thought about collecting art until my first cruise that featured art auctions. Since then I have collected at least 30 pieces that adorn the walls throughout the house.

I have learned that hanging art is akin to inviting the artists to live with me and my wife. By far, our favorite artist is Dominic Pangborn. I have created a mini gallery in the most visible part of the house that solely displays Dominic's works. His pieces are the centerpiece of our collection and undoubtedly the topic of conversation with everyone that comes to the house.

Also, thank you for providing an opportunity for your clients to meet the artists. I met Dominic at an event and talking with him, hearing about his life made me want to collect more and more of his amazing art. I am proud to share my home with such an amazing artist and an even more amazing person."
