Pleased with Park West Gallery

Marcus Glenn, Park West Gallery
"Art Inspired by Life" by Marcus Glenn
Park West Gallery Collection

Dear Park West Gallery,

"I would like to drop a quick note to say how much we enjoyed your art team on our cruise. [They] took a lot of time with us to show and explain the artists and working to get us the best prices possible.

We were not planning on getting anything this cruise as we had been offered some VIP packages and were planning on waiting for one of them to buy. However when we met with your team we could not help but to purchase more.

What a unique once in a lifetime chance you have offered at a fantastic price. [Your team] was great to work with and I would love to cruise with this group again. They were a very special crew and you could tell they all cared about us as well as each other."

"Since our honeymoon on the now-decommissioned Carnival Jubilee in 2003, we have enjoyed artwork purchased from Park West Gallery on nearly a half-dozen cruises. Naturally, we have encountered the same number of auctioneers, and dozens of their team members. However, on no other occasion have we felt as comfortable and important as we did on the Carnival Magic's August 14 sailing out of Barcelona.

[The team was] professional, yet personal. They were passionate about their work and committed to sharing their knowledge with us. Under their direction, we 'graduated' from serial lithographs to Peter Max and Itzchak Tarkay originals, and we couldn't be more pleased.

As our framed artwork is arriving and making its place in our entryway, we are reminded of the stellar job these three individuals did. We genuinely appreciated their customer service and warmth, such that we left our European cruise not simply missing the beautiful ports of call, but the generosity and friendliness of the Carnival Magic art team.

We hope you will pass this message onto them and let them know that their work has made a difference in our lives. Thank you very much, Park West Gallery, for recruiting such talented people who inspire us. We wish the very best for our home state of Michigan's greatest gallery."

Dear Park West Gallery,

"Please convey to Morry, Albert and Mitsie, and all of the people associated with the August auction event at the Henry, we were thrilled with the artists and the access to them. Everyone treated us like royalty. We were not expecting this type of event. Again, thank you for the invitation and the hospitality."

"[Your associate] provided the kind of customer service and sales experience you would wish for each transaction. I contacted Park West Gallery after looking for sources for Tarkay art online. I also remembered the Park West Gallery auctions in Champaign-Urbana in years past. [Your associate] responded to my request, and over the next three weeks, responded to my questions with detailed advice and suggestions. Our e-mail exchange numbered 10, and I also called and spoke personally with [her] on one occasion. The result was a sale for Park West Gallery and a purchase that met my expectations entirely. With the anticipated arrival of the COA by separate mail soon, this transaction will be concluded, very satisfactorily for me. I have spent a lifetime in customer service, and wanted you to know how helpful I found [your associate]."

Artists Surprise Park West Gallery Collectors

Park West Gallery, David Najar
"My Golden Palace" by David Najar
Park West Gallery Collection
Dear Park West Gallery,

"We're just recovering from a fantastic weekend at the Balboa Bay Club in Newport Beach.

It was the usual outstanding Park West Gallery event, but this was made even more memorable with the presence of Anatole Krasnyansky, Itzchak Tarkay, David Najar, and a surprise visit by Scott Jacobs. There was also a phone conversation with Tim Yanke during one of the auctions.

To say it was a thrill to meet and talk to these world renowned artists is an understatement.

We can't wait to display the piece by Krasnyansky and two more of Tim Yanke's works to go along with his beautiful Kokopelli. I wrote to Tim and told him the family room is going to be called the 'Tim Yanke' room.

[The auctioneer] and the rest of the staff made us feel as special as the beautiful Newport surroundings.

Thank you."

"I really didn't know who to write to but I just wanted to thank Park West Gallery for the fabulous weekend my husband and I had in Huntington Beach, CA.

This was the first event we have been able to attend and we were only able to stay Saturday and Sunday but we had a wonderful time.

Meeting Itzchak Tarkay, David Najar and you especially surprised us with Scott Jacobs - who is such a great guy - it was such a pleasure. Scott even got on the dance floor with us on Saturday night.

Thanks again."

Thrilled to Meet the Artists at Park West Gallery Events

"She Speaks Softly" by Itzchak Tarkay
Park West Gallery Collection
Dear Park West Gallery,

Just a belated note to thank you and all of your associates at Park West Gallery for making the weekend in Dearborn, Michigan enjoyable and exciting. What a thrill to meet Peter Max and Itzchak Tarkay, as well as David Najar and Tim Yanke! We just received the photos which were taken of us with the artists and our art work, and have already gotten a couple of the pieces which we purchased that weekend.

All the details of the various events were carefully planned and executed, and it was obvious that much effort and expense went into the lavish entertaining. The instruction from the artists was enlightening, the entertainment was lively, and the food was fabulous.

Thanks once again for giving us the opportunity and the honor to spend time with you and Albert Scaglione and the many art collectors we met in Dearborn.

So Pleased with Park West Gallery

Park West Gallery, fine art collection, Linda Le Kinff
Dear Park West Gallery...

"In May 2010, I did the two week Panama Canal cruise aboard the Carnival Elation. I had visited Park West Gallery auctions about six years prior on another Carnival ship and had purchased two paintings that, unfortunately, I did not get framed until recently.

During the two week cruise I attended all of the art auctions. The auctioneer and his staff were excellent. I ended up buying eight works: 3 Tarkays, 3 Le Kinffs, a Barbara Wood and an Andrew Warden. I also had Park West Gallery frame them for me.

The prices that I paid for these artworks are excellent. I am so pleased with all of them. The auctioneer and his team were very patient with me, answered all of my questions and did not try to rush me through my buying process.

I am looking forward to participating in your future art auctions when I cruise."

Dear Park West Gallery...

"I have traveled many times on Carnival, the last being to Europe on the Carnival Dream. I have so enjoyed your art auctions. In fact I have purchased many pieces by Tarkay. I fell in love with his paintings on my first cruise. Your staff each time were very informative and helpful.

I look forward to cruising again and perhaps purchasing another Tarkay. I have also purchased a few other artists as well."

Dear Park West Gallery,

"Thank you for everything -- great cruise, all of the artwork has arrived.

The Shan-Merry is out of the tube and on the wall. The Peter Nixon carry-off is on the wall at my daughter Joanne's house. The Le Kinff is on the wall in the living room along with the three Tarkays. When I walk into the room I'm still stunned to see the artwork looking back at me.

I hope all is well with you. Again, thank you."

Park West Cruise Art Auctions are First Class

Dear Park West Gallery:

Seashore Pier #1. Itzchak Tarkay. Please accept our grateful appreciation for including us on your VIP Cruise to Alaska on the Rhapsody of the Seas the week of July 24-31!

This was our first event with Park West and we were very impressed by how professional, courteous and accommodating Morris, Sa’Belle, Jin, Kathleen and Tom were. It was truly a pleasure to be included and we appreciate the fact that there was no high pressure sales tactics at any time. The complete event and the Park West team were first class the entire week!

The group on the cruise was phenomenal and the auctions were very informative. The works of both Hua Chen and Leslie Lew were outstanding and we enjoyed meeting them and learning about them. Unfortunately, neither was our style, but we are privileged to add 2 more fabulous artists to our knowledge base! We are also privileged to have developed some wonderful friendships!

We thank you again for an outstanding event and are looking forward to receiving and enjoying our Tarkay originals to add to our Park West collection!

With Warmest Regards,

Tony & Gloria D.

Park West Customer Corner

Dear Park West Gallery:

Like so many PWG customers, we began collecting artwork while aboard a cruise ship (10 years ago). Our first purchase was a pair of LTD ED giclees by Tomasz Rut, which still hang in our bedroom to this day. Over time, we would learn more about other artists and their techniques. Having had the ability to meet Simon Bull, Andrew Bone, Alicia Quaini and Alfred Gockel, we jumped at the chance to collect their original paintings, as well as those by Itzchak Tarkay.

In addition, though we have always been intrigued by the detail contained within vintage etchings, we never put much thought into owning any such piece. We would eventually opt to collect a "time piece of history," and selected an etching by Albrecht Durer, dating from the 1600's.

You've heard the saying, "the more things change, the more they remain the same." While our knowledge and interests continue to develop and grow, so too, does our love for the works of Tomasz Rut. We currently have nearly one dozen of Rut's giclees, and rotate them once or twice per year. Some of our friends have asked if we charge admission to our home (i.e. museum style), while others have made it a point to begin collecting similar pieces as well. The latter were referred to PWG, and are now able to display their own pieces within their own home(s).

Two years ago, my family and I took a cruise to Mexico. As it was my first cruise, I didn't quite know what to expect, and as I wandered the halls of what sometimes seemed like a medieval castle, I was soon enthralled by the atmosphere and adventure of a life at sea. However, all of the memories of sea lions and jeep expeditions and tacos that Mexico had to offer could not compare to the Carnival experience I treasure most; the art auction. Being that I come from a home of cowboys and tumbleweeds, I had never been exposed to art in the way a young person should. Though I'd heard of Da Vinci and Dali, I'd never been given the opportunity to appreciate them. Thanks to Park West though, I can now proudly say that I do.

Looking at the many wonderful pieces on display there in that room, I began my ardent and enthusiastic relationship with art. I bought my first painting, was generously given my second, and I left with a booklet that depicted some of the other pieces Park West sold. That booklet, the one handed out at the beginning of the presentation, now decorates the walls of my bedroom. Better than what any wallpaper or music poster could do, I've brought a little bit of the world to my now famous "Wall of Art," and it also helped me introduce the wonder of so many artists to many of my friends.

Sincerely Yours,

Stephanie S.

We just received our last shipment of artwork we purchased on our 5 day cruise out of Galveston, TX. We purchased our items after much research and had another great experience. The first time we purchased mostly lithographs that we liked, this time we purchased specific canvas items that we were looking for. We decided to purchase framing from Park West as well. The items we received were much better than we dreamed they could be. We purchased two Peter Max mixed media pieces, one Bellet on giclee on canvas, and a Krasnyansky deluxe edition on linen. The last one compliments an earlier Krasnyansky piece we purchased last year. YET ANOTHER GREAT JOB BY PARK WEST. We are very thankful that we found you and that the auctioneers we have met are all professional.

Dear Park West Gallery

We love to read all of the positive letters from our customers and we're happy to publish a handful of our recent favorites. Park West Gallery would love to hear from you too!

----------------------------------

We were on a cruise “Rhapsody of the Seas” (Royal Caribbean line) sailing from Sydney. Nicole was our [auctioneer]. We found her extremely helpful, very pleasant and knowledgeable on the artworks. We appreciated her help in selecting the artworks we purchased and in making sense of the many choices.

We are looking forward to receiving our Charles Lee Violin and Cello Duet.

I am addressing this email to Albert but want everyone to know the quality of people on the ships. I have been buying from Park West for several years now. In meeting Ansophie and Shaun I must say they are the most pleasant and caring people that I have met on the ships. They truly made you feel cared for and taught me many things. I wish everyone was like the ex-teacher Ansophie, her methods were wonderful. I am in business myself and when your people chose this fine pair you did good. I believe I will have a wonderful relationship [with Park West Gallery] from here on out and it is thanks to the wonderful couple on the NCL "Star" in 2008

Warmest Regards, Joanie S. (Magnolia, Texas)

----------------------------------

First off, we would like to thank Park West for the kind invitation to be a part of the Mexican Riviera cruise in December in celebration of the gallery's 40th anniversary. What an amazing even it was with not only Anatole Krasnyansky but also Itzchak Tarkay as well.

Ann Marie, Tim, Tom, Laura and Jason did an exceptional job of making everyone of us feel at home while attending to our every need. Simply put, they went all out and the event could not have been any better.

What an additional surprise it was to have David Najar and his landscapes there as well. It was a breathtaking experience.

We were truly honored to have so much time with one of our favorite artists, Anatole Krasnyansky. Never in our wildest dreams could we have imagined that we would have had the opportunity to have dinner with Mr. Krasnyansky. Mr. Krasnyansky and his wonderful wife, Nelya were always at the auctions and their joyous spirit always filled the room. After speaking personally to and getting the advice of Mr. Krasnyansky, we decided to bid on The Toreador. Being lucky enough to win the bidding, this beautiful piece will now grace the walls of our home.

Not only are the works of Mr. Krasnyansky fascinating and moving to those who have the honor to own any of his pieces, his personal story is poignant and motivational in its scope and depth. Simply put, he is an inspiration to those both inside and outside of the art community.

Larry and Carmen W. (St. Louis, Missouri)

We just wanted to thank Park West for the great time we had on the Carnival “Miracle”. We really had a marvelous time. The hospitality that everybody showed was outstanding and the art education we received was second to none. Please pass our thanks on to the management at Park West and tell them they have a superb crew working for them. We look forward to the next time we get to be with all of you and have as much fun.

Here’s wishing everyone a Happy Holiday season and a prosperous New Year.

Dear Park West Gallery Newsletter Editors

The Park West Gallery Newsletter staff is so appreciative of all of the thoughtful words we receive from our readers. Here are just a few of the kind responses and we look forward to publishing even more in upcoming issues!

"Meeting all the artists at the 40th Anniversary Event in Detroit was so exciting. Meeting, socializing and hearing each artist explain what motivates them to paint has given us the desire to collect additional art from artists we had previously not noticed. Our favorites have been the ones we naturally were drawn to at each showing, but now, we will enlarge our art collection with new artist. Park West Gallery was such an exciting place to be and meet and greet with so many wonderful people who love art. We made new friends of other art lovers and artists. Thank you for this enriching experience. A memorable moment for us was the night Albert and his wife sat at our table and gave us details of their work with the Girls Home. How wonderful they help with the blessings that God has provided with others in need. We love the newsletter! It is great to be advised of up to date happenings with Park West Gallery." Charles & Dutchie W. ~ Sherwood, Arizona

"Thank you very much for the newsletter. We purchased 7 Rembrandt etchings on one of our cruises and a Tarkay painting. I am so happy with them and am ready to start looking again. You have a great gallery and wonderful paintings. Jordon and his staff were outstanding. Looking forward to doing business with you again." Eldon & Jeanne B. ~ Blue Earth, Minnesota

"Thank you for the newsletter. We have many pieces of art acquired from Park West Gallery via various cruise lines and our house is full of a variety of styles and images which totally intrigue our neighbors, friends and family." Gloria & Mike S. ~ Kelowna, B.C. Canada

"I have bought at least a dozen [Park West] pieces for my home and office. Each one has a personal connection with an event or stage in my life. For example, after returning from seeing Chagall's painting atop the Paris Opera House, I bought the same theme in Le Dance. Right now, I am looking at Chagall's lithograph of a female figure overlooking a Village. I got it at auction right after my mom passed and it reminds me of her presence and caring every day at work." Chas C. ~ Bethesda, Maryland

"I just received your newsletter and couldn't stop reading. We are great admirers of Park West Gallery's people as well as the beautiful and unique art pieces you offer. The greatest part of being part of the 'Park West Family' is meeting the artists, and if lucky, learning more about THEIR PASSION in their craft. Thank you for the experiences we have been able to share." Kenn & Marie B. ~ Camas, Washington

"Thank you for this great [newsletter]. My wife and I have purchased a few pieces of work from Park West and have never been disappointed." Larry N. ~ Chanute, Kansas

"Thank you for the newsletter. It is another way for those who bought artwork to keep informed and to continue to be educated by those who really know and understand the present world of art. My wife and I continue to enjoy our artwork we have accumulated over the years, mostly from Park West." Kurt & Wilma P. ~ Denver, North Carolina

Cheers to Park West Gallery

Park West Gallery recently held a conference for over 100 Plymouth Auctioneering associates, providing services for Park West cruise ship art auctions at sea. The experience was memorable and gave everyone a chance to interact with the artists in attendance - Peter Max, Yaacov Agam, Itzchak Tarkay - just to name a few. Following are the thoughtful comments from some of those lucky to attend:

"Meeting with and interacting with the artists while creating art gave us a sense of the strong connection they have with Park West and we are an essential member of the same team. I felt very fortunate for this and would like to thank the forward thinking team for including us. Cheers.
All the best,
Ty
"

"I thoroughly enjoyed my training. The experience of meeting the artists was awesome and very unexpected which made it easier for me to learn instead of just reading all the info. You can get the feel of their passion and style from watching them paint or give a presentation. The trainers are fantastic. I feel motivated and ready to perform and look forward to boarding my ship.
Cheers,
Crystal
"

"I feel incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to meet with auctioneers from all over the world. The presentations were motivating and inspiring and I really enjoyed listening to Chris, Gordon and Lane. Being able to spend time in the gallery was amazing. Thank you so much!
Sincerely,
Naomi
"

"I definitely want to take a moment and thank Park West for the opportunity to be a part of the Conference. Best wishes and I'm thrilled to be a part of the Park West family.
Sincerely,

"

"I was taken away by the entire experience of the conference. I feel very fortunate to have been able to be a part of such an amazing event. The opportunity to meet and talk to so many of the artists that Park West represents was truly an experience of a lifetime. To meet so many people that are a part of Park West gave me a much more intimate feeling of the company and how it operates and the amazing people involved in making this company what it is today.
-Hoomann"

"I learned a lot about the artists that I've met and about all the people that I will have the opportunity to work with in the future. I would like to thank all of you at Park West for giving me this unique opportunity to participate.
Thank you!
Daniel
"

"I'd like to say that this entire experience has been phenomenal and I want to thank everybody at Park West for allowing me to learn and experience so much throughout both the training as well as the conference. As a result of the conversations I had with the artists throughout the conference, I feel that I've developed a much deeper understanding of their work and developed a much more personal connection to them as well as their art.
Thank you again,
Negin
"

"Hearing Mr. Scaglione speak and talking one on one with him several times, left me with a profound respect for Park West and inspired me to strong belief in myself and the company. The artist expo experience enabled me to make a personal and emotional connection with the art. I think this will ultimately allow me to provide clients with the highest level of service. Thank you very much for the opportunity and the experience.
Best Regards,
Joshua
"

"I would like to thank everyone for giving me this opportunity to not just witness the greatness, but to share and be involved in this event. To have the chance of shaking Peter Max's hand or meeting Tim Yanke, and so many others, was a moment of my life that I will treasure and remember forever.
Yours Truly,
Martin
"

"It has been amazing, everything through our reception, food, meeting the artists to the organization. The gala event was probably one of the highlights of my life and career.
