Andrew Bone Collector Thanks Park West Gallery

Andrew Bone
African Majesty
Dear Mr. Scaglione:

My wife Patsy and I want to thank you for inviting us to the Park West Gallery event this last month. This is the second time that we have attended such an event. We also helped celebrate Yaacov Agam’s 80th birthday in 2008 which was unforgettable.

I know you must hear this all the time, but I would like to say it again for the record. You have a lovely family. It was a pleasure meeting your wife Mitsie for the first time and, as always, I continue to enjoy my relationship with your son Marc. Us “car guys” are never at a loss for good conversation.

The Park West Gallery event was as enjoyable as ever. As you may know, my wife and I are Andrew Bone collectors. What a thrill it was for us to have the rare opportunity to collect Andrew’s most important piece to date, the life-sized elephant.

We continue to be great fans of  Park West Gallery. To your credit, your staff is the finest I have ever had the pleasure to deal with. They are not only totally professional, but have become good friends as well. We are particularly fond of Morrie, Jason, Laura, Donna, Se’belle, Ann Marie and our special favorite, Jin.

May God continue to bless you.

Customer Thanks Park West Crew for Great Art!

The Cruise Art Auctioneers running the Park West Galleries on various cruise ships around the world are some of the very best in the business. They are knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate – and it shows. We receive great comments about these Art Auctioneers on a daily basis, and we enjoy sharing them here with all of you.

Hello.

Pablo Picasso
Imaginary Portrait
Park West Gallery Collection
This is just a letter of appreciation for the superb treatment we received and for the satisfaction of the Park West Art show in general.

The artwork was a nice variety of options but I must say it was the (Park West) crew that made the show. You should be thankful to have such a knowledgeable group as this. The words of Ansophie are still with us and used…"do you like it just like it?" Ricardo, Ljupka, and Johanni were all very helpful and had great attitudes in helping us pick our pieces of art. I would say they are great at helping to close a sale due to the fact that they helped encourage us to purchase some GREAT art. Choices we are very happy with!! They answered all of our questions and made sure we were aware of all facts. Again, Park West should be very proud to have these individuals within their company.

Thanks again for an enjoyable Park West show.

Park West Auctioneer Reflects on Park West at Sea

Here at Park West, we continue to enjoy all of the Park West Gallery testimonials we receive from happy art collectors after they spend time with Park West at sea. The comments about how wonderful the cruise art auctions are for collectors got us thinking about how Park West Auctioneers feel about their experiences with Park West at sea.

Below is a Park West Gallery review from the prospective of a Park West Art Auctioneer that we thought would be interesting to our collectors. Enjoy!

______________________________________

Park West Cruise Art Auctions"Being a Park West Art Auctioneer has been a truly amazing opportunity. I have a diverse background ranging from time spent in the military and police, to hotels, plus several years in sales and sales management. Park West has given me the chance to combine my love for and studies in art and history with my passion for sales in a way that no other career could have. I have traveled to almost every corner of the world…..

Of course the financial rewards are amazing, but without job satisfaction, the money doesn't mean much. I can honestly say that I love what I do! Introducing new collectors to the joy of collecting; seeing the amazement in people's eyes as I show a Rembrandt and relate the compelling story behind these incredible works; the excitement and energy of running a live cruise art auction for hundreds of people. No two days are ever the same! I still have to pinch myself sometimes when I realize that I'm enjoying coffee in Colombia, strolling down the canals of Venice, hiking over the rocks and tundra of Greenland, or sitting in the famed Blue Lagoon in Iceland….."

The entire staff should be recognized....

Dear Park West Gallery:

Bouquet in Blue. 2004. Alex Perez.I think someone should know about the service that was given to my wife and I on the last cruise by your Art Auctioneer, Christopher Lindsay and his staff. We purchased a good deal of art and they handled us with kid gloves and guided us thru our purchases.

The entire staff should be recognized for the service, Chris, Marissa and Rocky, who made it enjoyable to deal with them.

We purchased many pieces of art from your company but these were the most pleasant people to deal with. That made you feel like family not just a customer, and in today’s world you are lucky to have people like them.

Park West Art Auctioneer's Passion Shows

Dear Park West Gallery:

I want to compliment our cruise art director, Michael. We have purchased on cruise ships in the past and have seen several directors. Michael is by far the best one we have encountered. He is extremely knowledgeable about art and the artists. He has a passion for collecting and tries to share that passion with patrons. He has an intense energy during the auctions. The auctions were fun and entertaining.

The Dancers by Romero Britto
Michael was great with art patrons. During the previews, I saw him moving through the crowd, able to talk at any level about the piece in question. I heard him make recommendations with sincerity and in line with the patrons’ interests, not just to make another sale. He treated everyone with the same respect and dedication whether buying thousands of dollars on multiple pieces or only hundreds on one piece.

The thing that makes him stand out, in my opinion, is that he is genuine and it shows. I hope next time I go on a cruise, he is the art director because I will definitely buy from him again.

We look forward to Park West art auctions…

Dear Park West Gallery:

Golden Yellow with Brown by Anatole KrasnyanskyJust a quick note to say how much we enjoyed Bruce's auctions on our last cruise with Holland America. Bruce was most helpful and professional on each occasion that my wife and I dealt with him.

This was the second time we purchased art from Park West while at sea and for us, we really look forward to the art auctions. It has been a pleasure to deal with Bruce and I am sure on our next cruise we will again be attending auctions and adding to our collection through your many wonderful works of art.

Again, our thanks to Bruce.

Young Art Appreciator Enjoys Park West Auctions

I just wanted to write a letter of thanks to the staff on the Inspiration. Amy and Chris Lindsay delivered an incredible auction and patience with my 9 year old son. He was interested in the artwork and wanted to attend both auctions during our cruise. He even convinced us a purchase a few items for him during the auction.

Outside of the auction, Chris and Amy were willing to spend considerable time answering the questions from my son and educating him on the
artists.

Sincere Thanks,

I am extremely satisfied with Park West Gallery…

Dear Park West Gallery:

I am extremely satisfied with the exceptional service I have received from the knowledgeable auctioneers and gallery directors aboard every cruise on which I have purchased artwork. This last cruise was no exception. I purchased artwork from a relative newcomer to the Park West staff, Christopher Lindsay. He was forced to make the best of a "non-art" crowd and only two auctions, but he was very enthusiastic and made the experience very enjoyable.

He and his partner Angie were very attentive to their customers and went above and beyond to ensure a good experience purchasing from Park West. I proudly display my artwork in my home and would recommend Park West to anyone who wants the best value for the art they desire. Thank you, as well, to the other auctioneers and gallery directors I have had the pleasure to do business with.

Looking forward to joining Park West at sea...

Songuese by Emile Bellet
Dear Park West Gallery,

Recently received my Bellet purchases. I couldn't be happier!!!!!!!! Gave me the incentive to rearrange my furniture and re-hang (even give away) stuff I've collected over the years along the gulf coast to free up prime wall space.

Thanks to Kathy and Al, I learned so much. Attending seminars and auctions was the major activity of the day for me, whether mornings, afternoons or evenings. Kathy knows how to keep the attendees interested and as the cruise continued quite a crowd collected to hear her. This was an experience I am not likely to forget.

Looking forward to my next Art cruise,

Dear Park West Gallery:

Amazing Beauty by Michael Milkin
We recently had the pleasure of meeting and working with Martin, Park West Art Auctioneer on the Volendam, Holland America Line, during a cruise to ports in New Zealand and Australia.

Martin's enthusiasm, dedication, and knowledge of fine art is absolutely outstanding. We have traveled on several Holland America Cruises, attended numerous art seminars and auctions and Martin stands out amongst any art auctioneers we have met previously.

He is truly a credit to your organization. He exudes confidence and enthusiasm for his position and is a delight to work with on art purchases and in seminars.

Please pass our congratulations on to a superb employee and individual.

Thanks!

Auctioneer Provides Outstanding Service

Dear Park West Gallery:

Jaco, our Park West Art Auctioneer, did an outstanding job of steering us towards art that we liked and was within our budget. He made the auction events enjoyable as we learned about the process. He also provided outstanding customer service in the follow-up meeting to arrange framing and shipping.

My wife and I greatly appreciate his assistance.

Park West VIP Enjoys Latest Cruise

Dear Park West Gallery:

Color of Spring, Noah
I want to thank Park West for the VIP event on the Explorer of the Seas, May 13th through May 23rd. This was our first VIP event and we really didn't know what to expect. Sharon and I have taken many cruises and this was the most enjoyable of them all. We thoroughly enjoyed all of the Park West staff (Simon, Adam, Rebecca, and SaBelle) and we appreciate all of the effort they put into the event. Great job!!! We also appreciated the humor and educational info that you brought to the auctions.

Meeting the three artists was another highlight of the trip. Every time I look at our painting by Marko I'll be reminded of his antics!! Our pieces by Nano and Noah will also have special significance since we met the artists and now have a context for their work. We also had a great time with the other couples who participated in the event. We plan to keep in touch with several new friends.

We look forward to a continuing relationship with Park West and, once again, thank you!

Park West Customer Corner

Dear Park West Gallery:

Like so many PWG customers, we began collecting artwork while aboard a cruise ship (10 years ago). Our first purchase was a pair of LTD ED giclees by Tomasz Rut, which still hang in our bedroom to this day. Over time, we would learn more about other artists and their techniques. Having had the ability to meet Simon Bull, Andrew Bone, Alicia Quaini and Alfred Gockel, we jumped at the chance to collect their original paintings, as well as those by Itzchak Tarkay.

In addition, though we have always been intrigued by the detail contained within vintage etchings, we never put much thought into owning any such piece. We would eventually opt to collect a "time piece of history," and selected an etching by Albrecht Durer, dating from the 1600's.

You've heard the saying, "the more things change, the more they remain the same." While our knowledge and interests continue to develop and grow, so too, does our love for the works of Tomasz Rut. We currently have nearly one dozen of Rut's giclees, and rotate them once or twice per year. Some of our friends have asked if we charge admission to our home (i.e. museum style), while others have made it a point to begin collecting similar pieces as well. The latter were referred to PWG, and are now able to display their own pieces within their own home(s).

Two years ago, my family and I took a cruise to Mexico. As it was my first cruise, I didn't quite know what to expect, and as I wandered the halls of what sometimes seemed like a medieval castle, I was soon enthralled by the atmosphere and adventure of a life at sea. However, all of the memories of sea lions and jeep expeditions and tacos that Mexico had to offer could not compare to the Carnival experience I treasure most; the art auction. Being that I come from a home of cowboys and tumbleweeds, I had never been exposed to art in the way a young person should. Though I'd heard of Da Vinci and Dali, I'd never been given the opportunity to appreciate them. Thanks to Park West though, I can now proudly say that I do.

Looking at the many wonderful pieces on display there in that room, I began my ardent and enthusiastic relationship with art. I bought my first painting, was generously given my second, and I left with a booklet that depicted some of the other pieces Park West sold. That booklet, the one handed out at the beginning of the presentation, now decorates the walls of my bedroom. Better than what any wallpaper or music poster could do, I've brought a little bit of the world to my now famous "Wall of Art," and it also helped me introduce the wonder of so many artists to many of my friends.

Sincerely Yours,

Stephanie S.

We just received our last shipment of artwork we purchased on our 5 day cruise out of Galveston, TX. We purchased our items after much research and had another great experience. The first time we purchased mostly lithographs that we liked, this time we purchased specific canvas items that we were looking for. We decided to purchase framing from Park West as well. The items we received were much better than we dreamed they could be. We purchased two Peter Max mixed media pieces, one Bellet on giclee on canvas, and a Krasnyansky deluxe edition on linen. The last one compliments an earlier Krasnyansky piece we purchased last year. YET ANOTHER GREAT JOB BY PARK WEST. We are very thankful that we found you and that the auctioneers we have met are all professional.

First-time Park West Customers Reflect

My wife and I really enjoyed our first art auction on a cruise. We had watched the two previous auctions before participating in the last auction. Just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed working with Trevor from Houston, Texas. We agree with others comments about Trevor, "He is also very articulate – a true auctioneer – and really works at getting the bids and selling the paintings." He is a valuable asset to your company.

Cannot wait to receive our art works!

I would like to say that Seth along with his assistant, Alyssa, and Slavio were amazing to work with. I really enjoyed the auctions and they went above and beyond to make sure that buying art was a unique and great experience. This was my first cruise (and it won't be my last). The next cruise I take will depend on what ship Seth is on.

Thank you for such a wonderful experience.

My wife and I want to say thank you to John and his Park West team that brought Park West to our recent cruise on Grandeur of the Seas. Our oldest son is an art student and John's art seminar and art auctions were both informative and entertaining. While our purchases would be considered modest, he and his team made our first experience in working with a gallery very enjoyable.

To keep this short, his professionalism and personal (and personable) approach made us feel we were as important as the folks interested in the Rembrandt’s and other "high end" art he presented. And we thoroughly enjoyed his histories and sidebars on the various pieces and artists. He truly opened us up to a new venue and his sessions were a highlight of our cruise. Please give him a big pat on the back.

Customer Corner

Dear Park West Gallery:

Tim Yanke Lone Star 60
Frank and I would like to thank you again for inviting us to be part of the Park West VIP Cruise. This was our first VIP cruise and we were impressed with how Park West did everything top notch from beginning to end. It was exciting to get to meet the four different artists, Noah, Tim Yanke, Nano and of course Jerry Blank who was not scheduled for the VIP cruise but was able to join us. Each of these artists were a pleasure to meet. Their unique artwork and their personal stories made us appreciate them even more. We purchased artwork from each one of the artists and cannot wait to have them delivered. We were particularly excited when we received our first two peices of artwork this Saturday one of which was Tim Yanke's, Lone Star. Tim is such an exceptional individual and we were pleased to have had the opportunity to spend time with him.

The art enrichment presentation was very informative and we learned to appreciate artwork that we would not have ever thought to even look at in the past. Special thanks to Chris Lindsay, Simon, Samantha, EJ and Rebecca for doing such an excellent job. Please give our regards and thanks to each of them.

Thank You,

Frank and Ginette M.

Thank you for making me feel comfortable enough to say yes to the VIP cruise. It was truly an amazing experience. When we boarded the ship, I never would have thought I would acquire the works of art I now own. Getting to know Noah, Tim, Jerry and Nano gave me new insight not only into their work, but art in general.

Everyone from Park West was absolutely wonderful. Chris Lindsay was a superb host. Rebecca, Sam and EJ were supportive and understanding. Simon was always there making sure everyone was being looked after properly.

The trip was everything you told me it would be and more.

Thank you for a wonderful week, I’ll never forget.

Park West VIP Guests Enjoy Their Latest Cruise

Dear Park West Gallery:

Words can not express how happy we are, make that ecstatic, over our recent experience with the Park West Gallery VIP Cruise you gifted us with!

First of all, we felt like kings and queens during the entire time we spent with your staff! From the Hyatt Hotel and the Italian dinner to the balcony stateroom aboard the Explorer, to the excursion to St. John, to the pre parties and the auctions themselves, all the way to the processing through customs and delivery to our final destination, we could not have experienced better planning and efficiency. Every detail was thought out and provided for.

Even though the ship was beautiful and the islands a treat to see, the highlight of the entire experience was spending time with your intelligent, knowledgeable, well trained staff during the auctions and lectures. This was the highlight of our day and what we looked forward to every day!

Chris Lindsay was an excellent art auctioneer and educator. He brought in-depth knowledge to each and every presentation and delivered it with great style. The hours flew by listening to him and we were ready to stay and listen some more!

Simon always seemed to have things under control and was always patient and willing to help us, both with information about the artwork in the gallery and the art world in general.

Adam and Sebelle had unlimited energy and social skills right along with their great knowledge of each and every artist and their work. They had the ability to educate us about every piece we asked about and take it one step above the norm. They never pressured us to buy; they just shared every aspect about a piece so we could make informed choices. Even when we were not actively participating in the auction they had a smile, a greeting or a pat on the back for us. We felt that they really cared that we learn about art, acquire what was best for our collection, and have a wonderful time doing it.

Rebecca was the dynamo behind the scenes. She was always willing to discuss financing and payment options with us and always made us feel welcome, even if she had other things to see to. We smile over our favorite interaction with her when the bus driver at the end of the cruise told us we couldn't get on the bus and she took charge and handled the situation in the true spirit of a bulldog, and all with a smile on her face.

The collection of art on board was outstanding! There was something for every taste and budget. Our dream was to purchase our first signed Picasso, which we accomplished. Not only are we now the care takers of this fine work, but we have the entire history and background of its creation thanks to Chris, Adam and Sebelle. We purchased beautiful surprises also and can hardly wait until we have our gorgeous Mouly oil, our lovely Tarkay watercolor and our whimsical Markos acrylic all hanging in our home.

Thank you so much Jin for the invitation to be a part of this outstanding experience! We both feel this was the very best vacation we have ever taken together. Our travel companions were all friendly and had similar interests and provided lovely dinner company. We now have 50 new 'best friends' as well as terrific memories and gorgeous art.

Thank you all for ten days we will never forget!

Very sincerely,

Alan and Victoria

Park West Guest Enjoys Her First VIP Cruise

Dear Park West Gallery:

I just wanted to take a minute to thank the entire Park West team for making the VIP Art Cruise so enjoyable. Simon was fantastic in keeping me posted on all the pre-cruise logistics, and I really appreciated his help and guidance in all the auction previews. He also went the extra mile every day by asking if there was anything we needed, etc!! Samantha was great - and she was particularly effective at clearing NCL staff out of chairs in the lobby on the evening of the "paint off"!! I also appreciated the fact that she took time to point out other original Picot works that were available when she found out that I bought the original Picot watercolor. EJ was friendly and helpful! He went to the other auction and pulled the Nixon and Marko pieces for me which I really appreciated (and can't wait to get them). And he helped me through all the framing decisions despite that fact that he was feeling poorly! And Rebecca was a star - she rounds out your team well with her bright personality and incredible administrative abilities!!!

As this was my first VIP Art Cruise I really didn't know what to expect and even when I knew there were going to be artists on board, I still really didn't understand the opportunity that was being afforded to me!! Upon reflection, how incredible it was to meet and socialize with Noah, Tim Yanke, Nano and Jerry. Park West has certainly increased my appreciation for all art! I'm still incredulous when I think I bought some abstract pieces (Mouly and Yanke)!!!

Thank you Park West for such an enjoyable experience.
