A Really Special Park West Gallery Experience

Park West Gallery, Csaba Markus, cruise art auctions
"Eunoe" by Csaba Markus
Park West Gallery Collection
Dear Park West Gallery,

"Once again, thank you so much for your letter thanking me and Tom for joining you for a memorable VIP event.

The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe presented a really special backdrop for the presentations. Scott Jacobs and his wife could not have been more hospitable in opening up their gorgeous ranch to virtual strangers; and Park West Gallery's catering arrangements just added to the overall experience.

Although I had the privilege of meeting Csaba Markus last year at the Norwegian Epic VIP cruise, seeing him in his natural studio habitat - and having him cook his 'famous' goulash for us was a real experience; and I am looking forward to receiving the original as well as the edition piece I won at the auction while at Csaba's studio.

As I stated in a letter to you following the Baltic event, I really do enjoy the overall experience of being surrounded by the artwork and artists - and learning - a continuing educational experience - about the works as well as the artists. The presentations mean a lot to me even if I don't bid on a particular work or artist.

This was our sixth VIP trip (three on land, and three cruises); and it is still difficult to find room for improvement since the hard work of your staff continues to pay off with the arrangements for the accommodations, auctions, parties, dinners, etc. down to a science.

Again, thank you for all of your considerations, and I, too, look forward to seeing you at future events."

Park West Gallery CEO Inspires Art Collectors

"Couture" by Itzchak Tarkay
Park West Gallery Collection
DEAR MR. ALBERT SCAGLIONE,

"They say that 'for every action there is a reaction' and so on down the line. Meeting you for the first time at the Michigan VIP Event was truly inspirational. Your energy, your faith, your passion for everything you do is obviously why Park West Gallery is so successful and also why you have so many dedicated and talented employees who share your passion and vision.

It is a pleasure for us to be invited to, and participate in, the Park West Gallery VIP Events. Your hosts/associates/auctioneers always go the extra mile to make the event even better than the last. The auctions, the artwork, and the planned social events this week were awesome!

The VIP Event that we attended at The Henry in Dearborn (what a beautiful hotel), presented us with unexpected and welcome surprises. Meeting the artists (David Najar, Itzchak Tarkay, Tim Yanke and Peter Max) was exciting. Sharing meals with them, purchasing their artwork and meeting other people/couples who also share the passion of art collecting made for some wonderful and fun memories. We thank you for this opportunity.

We loved browsing Park West Gallery and wished we had more time to spend there. Thank you for opening your doors to us. The music and the meal were lovely. We, again, enjoyed meeting you and Mitsie, and look forward to attending other VIP Events in the future."

Sharing Art Knowledge, Expertise and Insight

"Heaven Sent" by Noah | Park West Gallery Collection
Dear Park West Gallery,

We would like to express our sincere gratitude for including us at the collectors event at Ritz Carlton Bachelor Gulch. It was indeed a pleasure to meet [Mr. Shapiro] and have the opportunity to share in [his] knowledge, expertise and insights of the art community. The beauty and majesty of the location and the friendliness of the group combined to offer a memorable weekend. It is always special to meet the artists and realize the inspiration and vision behind their works. Your staff took the time and effort to make us feel welcome and their efficiency and gracious service did not go unnoticed. Once again, Thank You. We are looking forward to receiving our artworks."

"Sorry this is so late in coming. I think of dropping a line but everything I think of seems lame. I am so insignificant when it comes to art. I wish I had brought a notebook to your talks on some of the older artists so I could have taken notes. The paintings were so soothing; you could have just one and be happy. I need to take an art appreciation class from you... Anyway thanks for all of your hospitality and talks. We enjoyed both."

Our Trip with Park West Gallery Was a Great Experience

"Big Thunder" by Tim Yanke
Park West Gallery Collection

Dear Park West Gallery,

"We want to express our thanks to the whole Park West Gallery Team. Everyone made the experience highly enjoyable, and we came away with a greater knowledge and appreciation of art as well as some very nice pieces that will be beautiful additions to our collection.

Meeting Noah, Tim, and Leslie (again!) enriched the experience and added depth to the art that each brings to our world. It is valuable to put a personality to the art that we have. Please thank them as well for their efforts when the opportunity presents.

We also know that it takes a great deal of work behind the scenes to make an event work so seamlessly, and we want to recognize the efforts of all to make the week as wonderful as it was.

Please pass our thanks along to all who worked so hard to make our trip with Park West Gallery a great experience."

Art Collectors Love Park West Gallery VIP Treatment

"Late Night with Friends"
by Anatole Krasnyansky
Park West Gallery Collection

Dear Park West Gallery,

"I just wanted to thank you again... even the FedEx deliveries are VIP! They call me to schedule a convenient delivery day/time and treat the delivery as very special. I did not think the Park West Gallery VIP treatment continued beyond the wonderful cruise. I have about 8 boxes here that I haven't even opened yet...Chanukah in August!"

"We just went on a 12-day cruise in Europe with the Carnival Magic. As you well know, Park West Gallery has a team on this ship. We went to all their auctions and events and we really want to say that we have never seen anything like it. It was AMAZING! The job they did was beyond great. They took the auctions, events and customer care to a whole new level. They made fun events and auctions with a fantastic atmosphere and energy. The art was presented in a perfect way both in the gallery and during the auction. We bought quite a few paintings and we are more than 200% amazed at the customer care and they work they did in all parts of the cruise. [The auction team] did the best job we have ever seen on any cruise or land auction or gallery. Park West Gallery should be proud to have all of those people on their list of employees and we think you are very lucky to have such a talented, knowledgeable and skilled team!"

"Everyone we met from Park West Gallery these last few days made us feel like a part of the family. And, more than that, all of the people who attended became friends. We are actually in contact with some of them now! The artists whom we met couldn't have been more personable. How lucky Park West is to have these people represent the gallery."

Park West Gallery Treats Collectors Like Family

James Coleman, Park West Gallery
"Midnight Blue" by James Coleman
Park West Gallery Collection
Dear Park West Gallery,

"In December 2010, I was contacted by a Park West Gallery Art Consultant, who invited me and a guest to attend a Park West Gallery VIP Cruise aboard the Norwegian EPIC.

The Park West Gallery Staff Members were great. They treated each guest more like a family member instead of a customer. There was no pressure to purchase anything, the staff only wanted to show off the awesome art collection on board. Our auctioneer was not only knowledgeable about art; he was also very personable and made each guest feel truly appreciated.

The artists lined up for the event were phenomenal. Meeting Tim Yanke, James Coleman and Nano Lopez was an opportunity of a lifetime. The artists were very friendly and took the time to talk to each guest, not in hopes of making sales, just meeting new friends. We had no intention of purchasing any additional artwork, since we are still trying to find room on the walls for all the artwork we already purchased from Park West Gallery. After meeting the artists, we purchased several new pieces of art.

[The Art Consultant] advised me it would be an experience of a lifetime if I were to attend the Park West Gallery VIP Cruise. He was absolutely correct in his prediction. We are grateful for having been afforded the opportunity to participate in a Park West Gallery VIP Event.

I would like to commend you for having such a great staff.

Very grateful art customers,"

Thanks for Opening a New Extraordinary World of Art

"Melodia" by Csaba Markus
Park West Gallery Collection
Dear Park West Gallery,

"We just returned today from a NCL cruise to Bermuda aboard the Gem. What a wonderful time Sandy and I had with your staff. It literally started 15 minutes after we boarded the Gem as we went directly to the Art Gallery

[The auctioneer's] assistant met us and Sandy immediately saw a Csaba Marcus work. When I looked over she had her hand over her mouth and I immediately knew that we were off and running (buying art). Three auctions and many hours of one-on-one conversations with [the auctioneer] and her staff, we left the ship with two unique variations of works by Peter Max, three original works by other artists, the Csaba piece and a litany of great memories.

As we were completing our paperwork late Saturday evening, I mentioned to [the auctioneer] that she sold me a $300 Kinkade a number of years ago on the Dawn, that is to be replaced by one of our new original pieces, and that she attempted to sell me a Max piece that I had no intention of purchasing, but would love to own (I now own a similar Max). She asked me what has changed in the 5 or so years since then to the point now where we are so excited about learning and buying art that our days aboard ship are scheduled around the art functions. I couldn’t really give her a good answer until I thought about this while trying to fall asleep.

The real reason is that through the extraordinary people of Park West Gallery, we have become knowledgeable, although I still consider myself a novice about the art world and the artists that Park West Gallery represents, the satisfaction knowing that the art is backed by a world class organization, and that if there is an issue, you and your group handle everything in a professional and courteous manor.

Park West Gallery has invited us to a VIP event... We already feel the excitement beginning to build in anticipation. We can’t wait...

Thanks so much for opening this new extraordinary world."

In Appreciation of Park West Gallery

Park West Gallery Fine Art Collection, Linda Le Kinff
Dear Mr. Shapiro,

"I have received my copy of the 2008 limited-edition publication Linda Le Kniff, The Graphic Work, biography and chronology of the artist's life and works, you so generously provided.

The photo-plates and text information were exceedingly well-written and presented. It's a wonderful research study of Mrs. Le Kniff's accomplishments and development of techniques in all media of experimentation to finished compositions.

I've so much enjoyed to this point having simply reviewed the overall chapters. During relaxed moments I look forward to reading cover to cover.

It's been our pleasure to have met her in person at Park West Gallery. We own several original paintings and that famous soccer lithograph, on which Linda executed a drawing with signature on the reverse side, as well as other unique objects acquired during exhibition tours. There's an interesting story behind every item acquired in association with the artist.

In appreciation and defined acknowledgement of your personal service to us, I thank you. I've always appreciated the dignified and professional manner in which you, in particular, and Park West Gallery staff have interacted with clients over the years.

Wishing you a prosperous and successful New Year."

Dear Park West Gallery,

Henry and I would like to express our sincere appreciation for your warm hospitality during the Park West event on the NCL Pearl last month. We enjoyed getting to know the members of your knowledgeable staff, as well as the interesting artists that joined us. Of our 23 cruises this was by far the most enjoyable, and one we will fondly remember.

Full Bloom #10. Itzchak Tarkay.
Our art collection grows with each cruise we take, and we couldn't be more impressed in our dealings with Park West. We have found that Park West conducts itself with the highest degree of honesty and integrity. Our relationship with your company has definitely enriched our lives, and we wish you continued success.

Kind regards,

Artwork and Artists Make Park West Event Special

We are ever so thankful for your providing us the opportunity to stay at the Biltmore during the VIP event to see what it really is like. As you know, we have been there for your dinner/auction events, but never stayed overnight. It was a real treat! All events were fun and we met some really wonderful people, plus the artists, Dominic Pangborn and Simon Bull.

Amore by NoahLord knows there was plenty of good food and drink. The "Dueling Pianos" was a fun event and something we had never experienced before. There were people of all ages and backgrounds. All of the children attending were wonderfully behaved or kept busy so as not to get bored and be a bother. The hotel had a "Dive-In" Movie on Friday night at the big pool. We had seen the movie, but it was still neat to see it projected on a big screen over the pool, suspended between the palm trees!

I used my camcorder while the artist, Simon Bull, gave us a demonstration of his painting. He is very entertaining. We met the people who live here in town that bought his demonstration painting and provided them with the footage of his painting. We enjoyed the artwork of the new artists you have added to your collection.

EJ assisted us from the "phone call invitation/set-up," all the way through the final minute before we left the Biltmore. Your Art Auctioneer and all the assistants in front of and behind the scenes were great!

Thanks again for this enjoyable weekend,

Customers Enjoy Cruising with Park West at Sea

Tridim-KK by Victor Vasarely
"We were lucky enough to be invited to a cruise of Alaska by Park West Gallery and there are no words to fully describe the great experience we shared.

The Park West staff was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, thoughtful, accommodating and sensitive to any request we made.

The quality of the artwork was exceptional and as an added bonus we met two world renowned artists. When you add to the above the beautiful cruise ship and being a part of a very friendly, fun group, it made for one of our best vacations.

Thanks for including us in that wonderful event."

Art Auctioneer Enjoys Being with Park West at Sea

The Art Auctioneers representing Park West Gallery on cruise ships around the world lead extraordinary lives. While they do work hard running Park West’s Cruise Art Auctions, they also get to explore all of the exotic locations they find themselves in – all while meeting some fantastic people along the way.

We hope you enjoy getting a glimpse into their activities as much as we do. We also love hearing about your experiences with
Park West at sea, so please feel free to share them with us.

"Pablo Picasso once said, “If you know exactly what you’re going to do, what’s the good of doing it? Since you know, the exercise is pointless. It is better to do something else.” I chose to do something different than the status quo.

Over the past year or so, I have been to Alaska, Canada, Washington, Oregon, California, Hawaii, Mexico, Columbia, Costa Rica, Panama, Puerto Rico, Florida, and way too many islands in the Caribbean to name. I have learned how to surf, I have held a baby sea turtle, swam with dolphins, seen Humpback Whales, Black Bears, and eaten Alaskan King Crab… while in Alaska. I have seen the sunset in Maui and the same month watched as it set in Costa Rica. I work with a commodity that people want and need, I help provide the opportunity of a lifetime for others, while enjoying and taking advantage of every opportunity afforded to me in mine.

I have one of the best jobs in the world; I am an Art Auctioneer representing Park West Gallery. I grew up in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan. Situated just down the street, walking distance from the house I grew up in, is Park West’s main gallery. Park West Gallery is a mainstay in my community not only for its claim to fame as the “world’s largest art dealer” but also because of its charitable contributions to the less fortunate in the Metro Detroit area. It was the way that art impacted me and my family, not to mention the potential income and travel, that made me decide on a career as an Art Auctioneer.

Living and working on a cruise ship is a wonderful life. Sure there are things that I miss from home but my life is so much better now than it used to be. My friends are from all over the world; I’ve got every continent covered except Antarctica. Every week I meet two or three thousand new guests that turn into friends and clients as we share the experience of travel and fine art. Life is good. I help to enable my collectors to turn their houses into homes. In my life as an Auctioneer, every week is different; this job is helping me to define who I am."
